The Tur Canyon is situated in the north of the Judea Desert, about 50 min. from Jerusalem.
Because it is a relatively small canyon, it drops from the desert plato very fast towards the dead sea allowing for amazing views.
Info about the hike:
The hike starts from Metsokey Dragot Hostel, situated on the cliff on the edge of the desert plato (it is possible to spend the night there before the hike).
A short walk (about 20 min) will bring us to the first of 4 rappels, the highest 80 meters.
This is one of the shorter hike but with some of the highest rappels in Israel.
It is a great hike for those not wanting to walk much but to experience “big air”.
Level of difficulty:
Medium. No prior experience needed.
